Temple Kol Emeth (TKE), a Reform congregation in Marietta, GA, is seeking an energetic, warm, and creative professional to serve as our full-time Youth and Family Engagement Coordinator. This position has the opportunity to work in partnership with URJ Camp Coleman.

The Youth and Family Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in the life of our congregation. This individual oversees and directs programming for children, teens, and families, helping to create opportunities for social, spiritual, and educational growth.

A successful candidate will be a charismatic, energetic individual with great organizational skills who can envision creative approaches to engage our youth of all ages and their parents. They will be flexible and able to work collaboratively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Duties and Responsibilities
Youth Groups
• Advise our senior youth group, KEFTY. Provide leadership training to KEFTY’s teen leadership board and facilitate their success in guiding their youth group. Guide the board in planning and implementing social, cultural, and community service events for their peers. Find opportunities to bring KEFTY members at large into leadership roles. Help recruit new TKE teens to join KEFTY.
• Create and lead Jewishly themed informal activities for our 3 younger youth groups that span grades PK-8
• Engage parent volunteers and young adults who serve as volunteers for youth events
• Chaperone and assist in the implementation of potential school and youth trips
• Work at URJ Camp Coleman in Cleveland, Georgia, during summer camp season according to the job description defined by Camp Coleman. This includes participating in regular mentoring and cohort meetings with URJ and camp staff during the rest of the year.
• Participate in Congregational and Camp administrative, marketing, recruitment and engagement which will include but is not limited to the use of social media, camp fairs and camp-style Shabbatot
Religious School
• Serve as a teacher in one or more of our Sunday morning Religious School classes
High Holy Day Youth Programs
• In partnership with TKE staff and clergy, support the development and implementation of youth and family programs for the High Holy Days
• Help prepare necessary materials for youth and family programs
Family Programs
• Design and implement, in partnership with TKE staff and clergy, fun and engaging social and spiritual opportunities for school-age families, such as:
o Family Shabbat – a Shabbat experience tailored for elementary school families at a time that best serves their needs
o Kiddish Klub – events designed for preschool families to engage Jewishly and bond as a community
o Holiday themed activities
Communications
• Work with staff to create communication related to our youth program by providing content for weekly emails and monthly e-blasts.
• Oversee communication efforts to youth program families.
• Respond in a timely manner to emails, phone calls, and texts from parents and staff.
Other Responsibilities
• Attend regular staff meetings weekly, as well as various committee meetings when requested.
• Attend Consecration, Family Shabbats, and other congregational events.
• Perform other job-related responsibilities as requested or necessary, as determined in conjunction with supervisor.

Qualities of an Ideal Candidate
A TKE Youth and Family Engagement Coordinator should possess:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience working with youth and/or teens in a congregational and/or camp setting
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build authentic relationships with youth, teens, and their parents
• Collaborative working style and demonstrated capacity for creative thinking, leadership, and program development
• Solid work ethic and proven reliability
• Strong communication (oral and written) and organizational skills
• Comfort working in an environment rooted in Reform Jewish values and principles
• Sensitivity to individuals with special needs, and experience creating environments of belonging
• Financial management proficiency (basic budgeting)
• Good sense of humor

Salary range $40-45k + benefits (Medical, vision, dental, paid time off, holiday pay, cell phone allowance)
